March Musings

A few topics today.

Had great success putting current condominium on market...have conditional sale in less than 3 days. The journey of 2010 continues.

Enjoyed watching Olympics but GLAD they're over. Congratulations to Canada's athletes on a good performance at these games.

A little concerned at the predominance of one sport. Seems like most of the Canadian media were disproportionately concerned over results in one event. Men's hockey is an important sport in Canada but one wonders why it monopolizes coverage. I fear we may have gone into a national 'funk' if the men's team had lost yesterday. But one has to always remember it is ONLY A GAME.

Also meet with surgeon today about the healing of my ankle. Hope to make progress with newer less bothersome cast.

  1. Hi Dave, your concern about men's hockey monopolizing the olympics should be laid to rest. Everyone I know has been following all events faithfully. Your statement on the country going into a national funk if we had lost the hockey game with the USA was a good point but I don't think that Canadians are such poor losers that it would have gotten to that point. But we won! So let's celebrate our nation's accomplishments at the olympics! It's not often that we show national pride. I feel it was and will continue to be a source of greatness, bonding and happiness for most Canadians. It's one of those moments where we will remember where we were and who we were with when Sidney Crosby scored that winning goal! God bless our great country!

  2. So the majority of Canadians came together to watch a puck being shot back and forth across a field of ice! Wow. That's important. Too bad, Canadians couldn't come together to resolve some real Canadian issues. For me, organized sporting events - Olympic or otherwise, do not create any national pride. Winning means nothing. I'm so tired of it all. Its as if nothing else happened in the world for the past two weeks, and people who do not watch sports are irrelevant. And the debt! The money. Incredible.
